A Rising Star in Holistic Healing – 2026
The Rising Woman Leader Shaping the Future of Holistic Healing
Amanda Cowlrick is a holistic health practitioner and the founder of Replenish Healing based in New Zealand. She is a registered Homeopath with the New Zealand Council of Homeopaths, a Reiki Master, and an Atua Healing Practitioner. She also serves as the Vice Chair for Reiki NZ Inc. Her practice is built on the core values of relaxing, refreshing, replenishing, and recharging the human spirit. With a background that transitions from corporate administration to intuitive healing, she represents a bridge between practical life and spiritual wellness. For her commitment to patient advocacy and her integrated approach to health, The Influential Today Magazine is proud to honor Amanda Cowlrick as A Rising Star in Holistic Healing – 2026.
A Journey Sparked by Dismissal
For many healers, the path to wellness begins with a personal crisis. For Amanda Cowlrick, it began at the age of fourteen with a wrist injury and a doctor who wouldn’t listen. As an active teenager who loved sports, Amanda was suffering from pain and weakness in her wrist. Seeking help, she was met with a diagnosis that is all too common for patients with invisible pain: she was told it was “all in her head.”
“This was when my doctor told me that the pain and weakness in my wrist was in my head, something I didn’t want to hear as an active sportswoman,” Amanda recalls. That moment of dismissal became a pivotal turning point. It led her to Annie Bottcher, a woman who would change the trajectory of her life. Annie used homeopathy to treat the wrist, and the results were undeniable. “She helped heal my wrist with homeopathy, and I have never had an issue with it since,” Amanda says.
This experience did more than just fix a physical ailment; it ignited a lifelong trust in natural healing. From that point on, Amanda turned to homeopathy whenever she had a health need. She had seen firsthand that there were alternatives to the standard medical route—options that listened to the patient and treated the root cause rather than dismissing the symptoms.
An Organic Evolution
Despite her early introduction to holistic health, Amanda didn’t immediately jump into a career as a healer. For years, she worked in administration and finance, building a stable career in the corporate world. The shift to becoming a professional healer wasn’t a calculated strategic move, but rather a natural unfolding of her life’s purpose.
“I enjoy supporting and helping others; honestly, I am not sure it was a conscious decision to move into Holistic Healing,” she reflects. “When I look back at that time, it seemed to be an organic flow that just happened. The right teachers appeared, and it all fell into place.”
This organic flow began to accelerate in her early 30s when she met Carmel Cochrane and completed Level 1 of Atua Healing. However, life had other plans, and she didn’t pursue it further until her 40s. It was then that the desire to heal returned with an undeniable force. “I decided to follow that desire, and this inspired me to make a career change and start my new journey,” she explains. This wasn’t just a hobby; it was a calling.
The Teacher Will Appear
Amanda’s philosophy on training is deeply spiritual: “When you are ready, the teacher will appear.” This proved true time and again throughout her education. In 2017, she began training seriously in Atua Healing, completing her Practitioner certificate by 2018. Simultaneously, she commenced her Reiki training, eventually achieving her Reiki Master’s status in 2019.
While diving deep into energy work, she also returned to her first love: homeopathy. She started her education in 2018, earning a Diploma in Acute Prescribing followed by a Diploma of Chronic Prescribing in 2021 from the College of Natural Health & Homeopathy.
She was drawn to these specific modalities for practical reasons. Homeopathy offered benefits without the side effects often associated with allopathic medications. Reiki appealed to her because it felt more “mainstream” and accessible to the general public, while also offering a fascinating comparison to the New Zealand-based Atua Healing she had previously studied. By mastering all three, she ensured that Replenish Healing could offer a diverse toolkit. “I also thought it was a good idea to have a couple of different modalities for people to choose from,” she notes.
The Legacy of Annie Bottcher
No journey is taken alone, and for Amanda, the guiding spirit was always Annie Bottcher, the woman who healed her wrist all those years ago. Annie wasn’t just a practitioner; she was a lifelong family friend and a mentor. As Amanda stepped into her own power as a healer, Annie was there to cheer her on.
“Annie was an inspiration to many people, and I was fortunate to have her as a mentor as I entered my training in homeopathy,” Amanda shares. In a touching passing of the torch, Annie gifted Amanda her books just before she passed away. “Annie had offered them to me as she was very excited and supportive that I was finally following my calling.”
When Amanda faced the critical decision of whether to launch her own business or join an existing practice, it was the memory of her mentor that guided her. “Annie’s voice led me to continue my journey to finish setting up Replenish Healing,” she says. In 2018, she set up the company and trademarked the name—a name that came to her during her first year of study. It perfectly encapsulated her core values: helping people heal by relaxing, refreshing, replenishing, and recharging.
Healing in Action
Since establishing Replenish Healing, Amanda has witnessed profound transformations in her clients. Her work goes far beyond treating physical symptoms; she addresses the emotional and energetic blocks that hold people back.
She recalls success stories that range from the physical to the deeply psychological. “From helping a client overcome severe anxiety so they could return to work and start socializing again with friends and family, to clients who have had anger issues that affected them and their families,” she says.
For Amanda, the reward lies in the restoration of a client’s agency and happiness. “It is so rewarding when a client thanks you for supporting them to change patterns of behavior that impact on them and others, or their pain (emotional or physical) has become manageable or disappeared.” Whether it is chronic pain or deep-seated emotional trauma, her integrated approach offers a pathway back to wholeness.
The Reluctant Marketer
Building a business from the ground up is never without its hurdles. For Amanda, the biggest challenge hasn’t been the healing work itself—which comes naturally to her—but the business side of things, specifically marketing.
“The biggest challenge I have faced while building Replenish Healing is marketing,” she admits with refreshing honesty. “I am unsure if I will ever overcome this, other than by hiring the right people to do the job for me.”
For someone whose nature is to give and nurture, the concept of “selling yourself” can feel foreign. “I am still working on this, as part of marketing is selling yourself, and this is possibly my biggest hurdle,” she says. Despite this, she has successfully navigated the growth of her practice by focusing on what matters most: the clients. Her primary focus today is balancing the retention of current clients while welcoming new ones, ensuring that “people don’t feel like they have been forgotten.”
Leading with Heart and Balance
Today, Amanda Cowlrick is a leader in the New Zealand wellness community. She has recently stepped away from her administrative work to focus entirely on holistic healing and her leadership roles. She serves on the Board of Reiki NZ Inc., holding the positions of Vice Chair, Membership Manager, and Web Developer.
She is able to dedicate herself to this path thanks to the support of her partner. “I am fortunate to be able to do this with my partner’s support,” she acknowledges.
But how does a healer avoid burnout? Amanda practices what she preaches. She has a personal mantra: “That to be there for others, we must also be there for ourselves.” Her self-care routine is non-negotiable. She practices Reiki daily, takes walks on the beach to connect with nature, and finds solace in her garden. “I love gardening, so I get out and disappear into that, which helps me relax and ground myself,” she says. She also values the simple joys of cooking and sharing meals with friends and family, alongside a regular meditation practice that keeps her centered.
A Message of Empowerment
Looking to the future, Amanda’s mission extends beyond her own clinic. She hopes to be a beacon for other women who feel stuck in careers that don’t serve their souls. Her advice is rooted in her own experience of leaving the corporate world to follow a calling.
“I hope I inspire more women to be empowered to take a leap of faith from a job that may not excite them into a job that they look forward to every day,” she says. She envisions a world where work isn’t just a duty, but a source of fulfillment. “A job that calls to their nurturing nature and fills them with joy, knowing that they are positively changing lives.”
Amanda Cowlrick is proof that when you listen to your intuition, find the right teachers, and step into your purpose, you can create a life that not only heals others but also replenishes yourself. In a world that is often stressful and depleting, she stands as a trusted guide, helping us all to relax, recharge, and heal.
