Alejandro Rojas – Bridging Innovation and Impact in Global Finance

By The Influential Today Magazine

The Visionary at the Helm

In the heart of Madrid, where history meets modernity, Alejandro Rojas, CEO LATAM and MEA region, stands at the intersection of global finance and transformative change. With a portfolio spanning 22 countries and €600 million in assets under management, Rojas along side the entire team of experts at Jota2 Group are redefining complexities of private equity. He’s redefining them. His story is one of relentless curiosity, strategic foresight, and an unwavering commitment to leaving a legacy that transcends profit margins.

For The Influential Today, Rojas opens up about his journey, the philosophy driving Jota2Group’s global success, and his vision for a future where finance fuels both economic growth and societal progress.

From Venture Partner to CEO LATAM & MEA: A Collective Growth Story

Alejandro Rojas joined Jota2 Group in 2021 as a Venture Partner, driven by a shared commitment to backing visionary founders and scaling transformative technologies.

“In the beginning, it was about identifying the entrepreneurs with a vision—and figuring out how to support them beyond capital,” he reflects. Now, as CEO for LATAM and the Middle East, Alejandro plays a key role within a broader leadership team focused on building strategic investments across sectors such as aerospace, AI, and food-tech. His journey reflects not just personal growth, but the collective ambition of Jota2 Group to deepen its global footprint and create long-term value through teamwork, operational insight, and purpose-driven innovation.

The Jota2Group Playbook: Innovation, Collaboration, Sustainability

At the core of the firm’s strategy lies a triad of principles: innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. “We don’t just invest; we partner,” Rojas explains. This ethos is evident in their portfolio, which includes robotics startups streamlining manufacturing, AI-driven automation, smart mobility solutions, and food-tech ventures tackling global hunger.

“Profit and purpose aren’t opposites,” Rojas asserts. “They’re partners.”

Mastering the Global Chessboard: Staying Ahead of Disruption

In a world of geopolitical shifts and technological leaps, Rojas emphasizes agility. The Jota2 Group team – such as Chairman and Founder Bill Saad, Global CEO Jacinto Ribeiro, COS Gavin Hockley, and many more – leverages machine learning to predict market trends and participates in global forums like the Family Office Summit, where Jota2Group’s Chairman, Bill Saad, was a keynote speaker in November 2024.

“Our presence in 22 countries isn’t just about diversification—it’s about cross-pollinating ideas,” he says. This approach has enabled Jota2Group to navigate economic shifts and seize emerging market opportunities with adaptability and foresight.

Leadership Rooted in Trust: The Bedrock of Stakeholder Relationships

For Rojas, leadership is defined by transparency. “Investors don’t just want returns; they want to trust the hands managing their capital,” he says. This philosophy extends to portfolio companies, where Jota2Group takes board seats to align strategy and governance.

Jota2Group’s hands-on approach ensures that portfolio companies receive the support they need to overcome challenges and achieve growth, whether through strategic partnerships, operational expertise, or access to global networks.

The UAE: A Laboratory for Financial Innovation

The UAE’s rise as a global financial hub aligns perfectly with Jota2Group’s ambitions. The firm is actively exploring opportunities to establish a DIFC-regulated VC fund and expand its presence in Abu Dhabi through strategic investment partnerships.

“The UAE’s regulatory foresight and appetite for tech make it a launchpad for ventures tackling everything from smart cities to renewable energy,” Rojas notes.

Tara for Women: Empowering Change, One Investment at a Time

Gender equity isn’t a checkbox for Jota2 Group’s team —it’s a growth strategy. The Tara for Women initiative, founded by Jota2Group’s Chairman Bill Saad, has made a tangible impact:

  • €113,000+ donated to support women-led initiatives.
  • 600+ families impacted, creating brighter futures.
  • 2,000+ young individuals educated on pressing societal issues.
  • 500+ hours of personalized mentorship provided to women entrepreneurs.
  • 16+ jobs generated through supported projects.
  • 10 young mothers returned to school to complete their education.
  • 50 scholarships provided for adolescent girls in Ethiopia through Fundación Pablo Hursman.

One of the initiatives supported by Tara for Women is Gravity Wave, a project led by entrepreneur Amaia Rodriguez, which empowers women through education and entrepreneurship. “Diverse teams outperform homogeneous ones,” Rojas states. “By supporting women, we’re not just creating opportunities—we’re driving innovation and stronger businesses.”

The Art of the Exit: Preparing Companies for Their Next Chapter

High-value exits, like Astra UTM’s acquisition by Thales, underscore Rojas’ belief in “preparing companies for their next chapter.” Additionally, Jota2Group played a key role in supporting the growth of DNA Payments, a rapidly expanding payment solutions provider, which later acquired CardCutters UK as part of its strategic expansion.

“The key is to build with the end in mind,” he shares. “Who’s the ideal buyer? What milestones matter? Answer those, and the exit becomes a natural evolution.”

The Next Frontier: Exploring Opportunities in High-Impact Sectors

Looking ahead, Rojas predicts turbulence—geopolitical risks, regulatory shifts—but sees greater opportunity. “AI will revolutionize due diligence, while sustainability will drive the next wave of unicorns,” he says. Jota2Group continues to explore opportunities in high-impact sectors, including AI, sustainability, and blockchain-driven supply chains.

Legacy Building: Advice for the Next Generation

To aspiring leaders, Rojas offers: “Think in decades, not quarters. Build relationships that outlive deals. And remember—your legacy isn’t what you accumulate, but what you contribute.”

The Architect of Tomorrow’s Economy

Alejandro Rojas is more than a financier; alongside the Jota2 team, he’s a bridge-builder between capital and impact. In a world hungry for solutions, his work at Jota2Group proves that the future of finance isn’t just about wealth—it’s about worth.

As the sun sets over Madrid’s skyline, Rojas’ final reflection lingers: “We’re not just investing in companies. We’re investing in the future.”
